PintMeisters is throwing a last minute “Crawl for a Cause…Hurricane Relief” this Saturday 11/10/2012. The idea behind it is to get people who live in/around Hoboken out on Saturday to socialize, while also collecting goods/$ to donate to the hurricane relief. Since Hoboken had been out of power for over a week, organizers think people will be antsy to get out. It’s last minute, but they are trying any which way to spread word as much as possible. The Hoboken Pint Meisters Pub Crawl is Official!
It will be this Saturday 11/10 from 1pm-5pm. We are still in talks with bars, but looks like it will be starting at Texas Arizona. We are trying to secure $2 draft specials at all bar locations. We didn’t have time to make shirts/etc but we are asking for donations at the door.
Collection areas are looking for the following:
- personal hygiene products
- dry goods
- baby needs
- pet supplies
- canned foods
- chaffing dishes/sternos
- LOTS of bleach.
We’ll leave the quantities/denominations up to you but we ask that you bring $20 worth of goods. Preferably, Pintmeisters asks that if you are not bringing items from home, please donate $20 instead of buying items. All donated funds will allow us to purchase what is still needed.
This is only 3 days away so we ask to please spread the word, share this page and invite all friends. If anyone has any connections, or knows a way for us to spread this to a larger crowd, please PM us asap. This is for a good cause and we’d like to make this as large as possible…
Brendan Drury and a few of his friends created Pint Meisters (http://www.PintMeisters.com). The organization’s goal is to create social recreational events in Hoboken area that raise money for charities.
They have decided to do a Halfway to St. Patty’s crawl this coming September 15th, mainly because it would bring in a large crowd and they can repeat it annually. For this event, Pint Meisters has decided that proceeds will be going to the Jubilee Youth Center in Hoboken (http://jubileecenterhoboken.org), a good cause that invests in Hoboken’s future its children.

Hey soccer fans, consider joining the folks at Texas Arizona at Pier A in Hoboken for an outdoor viewing party on Wednesday August 29 when NY Red Bulls take on DC United in an Eastern Conference showdown. The game starts at 8pm but the festivities start at 7:30pm where you can challenge your friends to Race The Red Bulls and other activities from the Interactive Zone. TheBoken.com is not sure what an interactive zone is but it sounds like fun for us gadgetry types. Besides the views will be great. Nothing like a soccer match with NYC in the background.

Update 4-19-2012: Last night Hoboken Robin was auctioned off for Charity at Texas Arizona. The winning bid was $20, a paltry amount for a Hoboken Superhero. Hoboken Robin ever the good sport about such things stated that based on his estimates the event probably easily raised over $5,000. That is good news but apparently the commodity prices of Robins has hit a downturn.
