Hudson Restaurant Week is a bi-annual culinary celebration that promotes Hudson County as a premier dining destination in New Jersey during slow times of the year: January and July. It was created by Get Out Hudson magazine in 2005 through conversations with local restaurants. The event and magazine were created by young female entrepreneur, Tamara Remedios. For this year the Winter installment runs from January 28th through February 8th, 2013. For more information go to http://www.hudsonrestaurantweek.com/index.htm. There is nothing creepy about any meal you would have at Sushi Lounge in Hoboken but the Halloween décor is just that, creepy. This slimy little Buddha zombie fella is battery powered and motion activated. When detecting motion his eyes light up a bright red and he does a full out Linda Blair from the Exorcist with a 360 degree head turn minus the pea soup barf-o-rama. You can’t have that vomiting special effect in the restaurant, that would be taking the joke a bit too far. Still, this little fella amused the staff and patrons alike with his head turning antics.
Kudos to Sushi Lounge for being ahead on the curve for Halloween decorations and for providing TheBoken with a very good dinner last night. The Optimistic roll [tuna, salmon, avocado, masago and crispy tempura flakes wrapped in soy paper and served with 3 special house sauces (sesame soy, jalapeño, and sweet wasabi mayonnaise)] left TheBoken quite optimistic that we will be returning for another meal soon as time permits.
No, this is not the missing bracelet. Just to give the reader the idea.
