Snooki and JWoww’s spinoff show of the Jersey Shore now has a first look video published by MTV. After wasting a few minutes of my life that I will never get back I am glad the show was in Jersey City and not Hoboken.
Here is a quote from the LA Times about the series:
“It’s a very different show — it isn’t two single pals living in Jersey City anymore,” MTV President Stephen Friedman told Show Tracker of the upcoming summer series. “You’re going to see a very different side to both women — not just Snooki but Jenni [JWoww], who has a real maternal side.” He added, perhaps with some understatement. “It’s a whole new way to look at pregnancy.”
The whole world knows by now that Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi is pregnant but this is just in from sources close to TheBoken.com. Not only is Snooki pregnant but she is expecting quintuplets! Her recent visit to the doctor’s office confirmed that she not just bringing one, two, three or four bundles of joy into the world but five! At first Snooki was stunned by the news as having one child is a life changing event enough for a girl notorious for her partying on the Jersey Shore. But five kids? Wow, what’s a Snooki to do? One Word: Spinoff!
Snooki stated while she wasn’t expecting such a large family so soon, that having all these kids at once is sign that she needs to focus on a new area of her life, being a TV mom. She said not only did she get engaged at the W Hotel but she probably got pregnant there as well. Even though she was recently denied permits for filming in Hoboken it seems Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi has left her marks on Hoboken nonetheless, stretch marks that is! Sorry ladies! Nicole is thankful for all the friends and family support that she has received as the thought of giving birth to five kids scares her. “Look, I’m a tiny Jersey Shore Guidette and I don’t know if my little frame can handle giving birth to five kids at once. I am afraid I will end up looking like some kind of meatball”, Snooki was quoted as saying.
Here are some possible names for the expected TV show:
Jersey Shore Mom
Oops, Honey I Produced Five Kids
Jello Shot Mom
Octo-mom minus three
Snooki Does Diapers

Fox News is reporting that Hoboken’s loss is Jersey City’s gain, at least from the point of view of fans of “The Jersey Shore.” Here is their brief note:
“The producers of a spin-off of the MTV hit starring Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi and Jenni “J-WOWW” Farley obtained filming permits from Jersey City officials and signed deals with local bar and restaurant owners, Fox 5′s John Huddy reported.
Recently, Hoboken Mayor Dawn Zimmer rejected a request by the production company, 495 Productions, to shoot the show in her city, citing a need to protect “public safety and quality of life concerns for Hoboken residents.”
She also warned 495 Productions and MTV that Hoboken would not tolerate unauthorized shooting.”
Keeping it in Perspective: Previously, TheBoken.com readers had overwhelmingly stated that they did not think that this was a good idea to have Snooki and JWoww film in Hoboken with results shown to the right. In fact almost 83% said they did not think it was a good idea. The Mayor also did her own poll via twitter and she received an overwhelming plurality against the filming as well in her poll too. MTV was normally expects to film 24-7 which is against Hoboken’s ordinance on filming in the City does not allow for filming after 11pm. Snooki and JWoww were on Good Morning America this morning addressing the Snooki pregnancy rumors (she’s not and doesn’t appreciate being called fat) and talking about Hoboken. Snooki did state that she was disappointed that Mayor Dawn Zimmer didn’t sit down and meet her before making a decision, but expressed her continued love for Hoboken. Snooki said it’s Hoboken’s loss and they are looking for a town that wants them to shoot the spinoff of the Jersey Shore.
The Hoboken discussion starts 2 minutes into the video. Check it out below….
Hoboken Mayor Dawn Zimmer appeared on CNN’s Showbiz Tonight last night to discuss the city’s denial of a filming permit for Snooki’s Jersey Shore spinoff. The Mayor used the interview to promote Hoboken and told Snooki she’s welcome in Hoboken, just not with a 24/7 camera crew. The host asked the Mayor if she’d do Jello shots with Snooki. Take a deep breath people, it is not the Mayan Prophecy or Armageddon Snooki is not pregnant, with child, “knocked up” as previously reported on multiple media outlets. The human gene pool is at least safe for a little while longer. Just kidding. TheBoken.comdoes not want to come accross as mean spirited so please take it as only a joke. Here is an excerpt from E- Online on the rumor:
Snooki’s rep tells E! News that there is no truth to the rumors and that the MTV star is not pregnant.
The tabloid seemed to pin the rumor on the fact that Snooki was telling friends she had a “big announcement” coming soon. Well, it seems like her baby may have been simply of the professional variety, possibly to do with her Jersey Shore spinoff with pal JWoww.”
On the City of Hoboken Website today Mayor Zimmer stated that the Snooki and Jwoww Spin-off from the Jersey Shore has had their film permits denied over what she coined quality of life concerns. Here is an excerpt from her letter to the City Council. Keep in mind, MTV has the right to appeal.
Jersey Shore Spin-off Film Permit Request
”Based on protecting public safety and quality of life concerns for Hoboken residents, the City has denied a film permit for a spin-off of the Jersey Shore to be filmed in public locations. Please see the attached letters which explain the reasons for this decision. The applicant has been advised that they do have a right to appeal the Film Commission’s decision to the City Council.”
- Mayor Dawn Zimmer
The letter from Dawn Zimmer to 495 Productions and full attachment are below….
Mayor Zimmer was quoted as "having real concerns over Snooki" coming to Hoboken in a WPIX interview yesterday. It was reported in local media just two days ago that MTV was looking for either Jersey City or Hoboken to have a spinoff TV show featuring Jersey Shore cast members Snooki and Jwoww. An unconfirmed source even has a lease signed already for a Brownstone in Hoboken. The overwhelming feedback on TheBoken.com and other local media is a resounding no so far.
In fact the Mayor in her concern tweeted (https://twitter.com/#!/dawnzimmernj) a poll to get feedback from residents on what they thought of Snooki coming to Hoboken. Here are the results as of this morning:
That is a whopping 70% not in favor of Snooki coming to town. To give the Mayor your feedback go to this link: http://twtpoll.com/3estn3
Snooki and Jwoww Coming to Hoboken Soon. Good for town or bad?
This week, producers with MTV have been blanketing Hoboken retail stores and restaurants with paperwork asking if local businesses would like to be part of the show which is untitled at the moment. The show which is entitled for now “Snooki & Jwoww untitled” is asking local merchants to use their places of business for filming.
Unlike other shows which are filmed in Hoboken that show off the good side of Hoboken like the Cake Boss, local merchants have been coming out of the woodwork and staying they’re not interested in the show being filmed at their businesses. Some merchants fear that businesses will be depicted in the negative light and make local businesses look bad.
Many Hoboken residents also feel the shooting of the show In Hoboken may create a mob of out of town lovers of the Jersey Shore, filling the sidewalks and streets with fans and extra cars. Some, self included feel it could potentially be a safety concern filming he show in the community.
The date to start production is unknown at this time.
What do you think? Is this potential show good for the Hoboken community or will it possibly depict us as a laughable city like the Jersey Shore has done for communities along the Jersey shore?
