Relay For Life of Hoboken Presents a Memorable Event
at Pier A Park in Hoboken
Relays For Life are life-changing cancer events that help communities across the globe celebrate the lives of people who battled cancer, remember loved ones lost and fight back against the disease. Relay For Life of Hoboken will continue to raise funds for the American Cancer Society at the 10th Annual Relay For Life of Hoboken which takes place on May 19th, 2012 at Pier A Park beginning at 11am and continuing until 11pm. Relay for Life of Hoboken consists of 55 teams and the Planning committee. If we reach the goal of $200,000 for this year, we’ve reached $1 million raised in Hoboken over the past 10 years.
Relay For Life Of Hoboken is a full day event where the general public can join our Relay teams in raising funds and increasing the awareness for the American Cancer Society, the nation’s #1 not-for-profit contributor of funds for cancer research. Please join us for a full day of events. The teams invite the Hudson County community to come to the opening ceremonies starting at 12noon. The Survivor’s Lap is very uplifting meant for all those who fight against cancer and survived. Several bands will be performing throughout the day. Family activities include Hula Hoop relay and Kids coloring contest. People can exercise for a cure with Zumba and Bellydancing. The Luminaria Ceremony begins 9pm, it’s one of the most inspiring events during the day. Relay For Life of Hoboken teams are working very hard to reach their goal to raise $200,000. Some of fundraising events include Kid Friendly Games, Baked Goods Tables and a Dunk Tank.
The Survivor tent is the place where you can find out all information about Relay For Life, the organization’s mission, and informational resources to help those who are fighting cancer and who have survived cancer. Participants at past Relay for Life events who spend the entire day gained a positive, powerful, experience as they raised their awareness and helped join in the fight to find a cure for cancer. Many of these folks came to join the following year as a team participant, team captain, committee volunteer or committee chairperson.
