Brendan Drury and a few of his friends created Pint Meisters (http://www.PintMeisters.com). The organization’s goal is to create social recreational events in Hoboken area that raise money for charities.
They have decided to do a Halfway to St. Patty’s crawl this coming September 15th, mainly because it would bring in a large crowd and they can repeat it annually. For this event, Pint Meisters has decided that proceeds will be going to the Jubilee Youth Center in Hoboken (http://jubileecenterhoboken.org), a good cause that invests in Hoboken’s future its children.

The Boys and Girls Club of Hudson County and the Jubilee Center, along with the Association for Science in Autism Treatment (ASAT), have joined together to launch Dine InDeed 2012, a community-wide restaurant event committed to helping children and adolescents realize their fullest potential. The Wicked Wolf Tavern is our first official restaurant this summer! Four Hoboken restaurants have participated in the recent past raising almost $5000.
Current estimates state that 1 in 88 children have autism. Each year, countless Hudson County families spend thousands of dollars on unproven treatments for their child with autism. The Association for Science in Autism Treatment’s mission is to disseminate accurate information about autism treatments so that all families are able to identify and choose effective, scientifically-validated interventions for their child.
The mission of the Jubilee Center is to serve the academic and social needs of children and families in Hoboken’s public housing community. The Center has provided a safe after school haven for children in grades K-6 for more than a decade and has recently expanded programming to accommodate the needs of the children during the summer.
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Hudson County helps young people build strong character and realize their full potential as responsible citizens and leaders. They do this by providing a safe haven filled with hope and opportunity, ongoing relationships with caring adults, and life-enhancing programs year round. Donations will be used to fund building renovations at the Hoboken location on Jefferson Street.

The 14th Annual HOHA 5 Mile Classic was run this year on Mother’s Day. The weather was perfect yesterday and for the first time a baby jaunt with parents with strollers kicked off the event earlier before the big race at 10 am. Kudos to organizers Jim Doyle and Cindy Cray for putting together this event with help from a number of volunteers. All the proceeds for the event go to the Jubilee Center. The weather was perfect yesterday although one runner, HOHA member Ian Rintell of Hoboken Golf said it would have been better if it was a bit cooler. The top finisher in the main race was Ross Weller from New York, NY and the top female finisher was Angela Colarusso from Hoboken, NJ. Small trophies were given out for 1st through 3rd place finishers in different age categories. Photo and video highlights are below….
