The Hoboken Cove Boathouse will be having a fundraiser at the Pilsener Haus and Biergarten in Hoboken on May 1st. The festivities start at 6:30pm. Friends and family are welcome to enjoy food and drink for all ages. Proceeds from the event will be used to support community cove events, purchase kayaks, equipment and insurance to operate the Hoboken Cove Community Boathouse.
Tickets are $30 and include a beer and grill item. The Pilsener Haus is located at 1442 Grand Street Hoboken, NJ
Today’s photo of the day was taken yesterday along Hoboken’s Waterfront walkway during winter storm Saturn. It wasn’t a huge storm in terms of its impact to Hoboken but it did produce a great opportunity to get some snow covered shots of Hoboken. The majority of my shots I took yesterday did not come out due to the wind blowing snow in front of my lens but this one captures the beauty of Mother Nature. I submitted this photo to the City of Hoboken and it is now placed on the City Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/Hoboken) with over 700 likes and growing.

This video was taken over this weekend uptown Hoboken along the waterfont. North of the Hudson Tea building and along the walkway heading into Weehawken, there is a massive amount of water being pumped into the Hudson River. Presumably this is being treated first by the North Hudson Sewer Authority. Below is the video short….

NY Waterway is having a cruise for 4th of July to give you a really good seat for the fireworks show on the Hudson River that will start around 9pm. The package includes a DJ, synchronized music score and cash bar with service. More details are below from NY Waterway …

Public Invited to Join the 1st “Hudson River Loop Walk”
And be Part of a 30-mile Walk Along New Public Accessible Trails
Paul Kiczek, of Morristown, NJ, Founder of FreeWalkers, a social network of long distance walkers, hopes that the seductive views on both sides of the Hudson will bring a large number of hardy walkers together on June 9th to experience and celebrate new sections of the Hudson River Walkway and the Hudson River Greenway.
Partnering with the East Coast Greenway Alliance (ECGA), and the Hudson River Walkway Conservancy, the FreeWalkers and guests will be participating in a unique long-distance walking event called “Hudson River Loop Walk – HUDSONLOOP30” (http://hudsonloop30.org) for the benefit of the associated trail organizations and for personal fitness and pro-pedestrian issues.
The ECG (http://greenway.org) is a non-profit organization that is mapping out a continuous 3,000 mile trail from Maine to Key West, through populated areas along the U.S. East Coast, such as New Jersey and New York. The organization promotes a multi-use marked trail for walking, running, and biking and is open to the public. The ECG trail follows the best existing trails where possible. Their “shared-resources” approach promotes the use of trails, such as the Hudson River Waterfront Walkway, while it helps advocate and advise pedestrian projects that
benefit communities along the way.
The nearly 25 year-old Hudson River Waterfront Conservancy promotes the development of the Waterfront Walkway, which is a spectacular 30 foot wide pathway on the western shore of the Hudson River in New Jersey. The objective of the walkway, which is nearly complete, is to provide a continuous and free 24/7 walking path at the water’s edge from Bayonne to the George Washington Bridge. As Tom DeGise, Hudson County Executive recently put it at the April 2012 dedication of the new Hoboken to Weehawken connection, “We’re here today to close the gap on the greatest asset Hudson County has …(Hudson River Waterfront Walkway).”
According to Kiczek of the FreeWalkers, “We’re inviting the public to walk the Hudson River to observe both views of the beautiful river and its skylines, while promoting fitness and personal challenge.” With convenient access to trains and ferries there are many options to join in or drop
off the walk.

East Coast Greenway and the Hudson River Waterfront Conservancy, as well as the importance of pedestrian issues that enhance the quality of life for our communities.”
