Fox News is reporting that Hoboken’s loss is Jersey City’s gain, at least from the point of view of fans of “The Jersey Shore.” Here is their brief note:

“The producers of a spin-off of the MTV hit starring Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi and Jenni “J-WOWW” Farley obtained filming permits from Jersey City officials and signed deals with local bar and restaurant owners, Fox 5′s John Huddy reported.

Recently, Hoboken Mayor Dawn Zimmer rejected a request by the production company, 495 Productions, to shoot the show in her city, citing a need to protect “public safety and quality of life concerns for Hoboken residents.”

She also warned 495 Productions and MTV that Hoboken would not tolerate unauthorized shooting.”

Keeping it in Perspective:  Previously, TheBoken.com readers had overwhelmingly stated that they did not think that this was a good idea to have Snooki and JWoww film in Hoboken with results shown to the right. In fact almost 83% said they did not think it was a good idea. The Mayor also did her own poll via twitter and she received an overwhelming plurality against the filming as well in her poll too. MTV was normally expects to film 24-7 which is against Hoboken’s ordinance  on filming in the City does not allow for filming after 11pm.
