Hudson Restaurant Week is a bi-annual culinary celebration that promotes Hudson County as a premier dining destination in New Jersey during slow times of the year: January and July. It was created by Get Out Hudson magazine in 2005 through conversations with local restaurants. The event and magazine were created by young female entrepreneur, Tamara Remedios. For this year the Winter installment runs from January 28th through February 8th, 2013. For more information go to http://www.hudsonrestaurantweek.com/index.htm. Profiles of each participating restaurant are available on the site.
Here are the participating restaurants from Hoboken for Hudson Restaurant Week….

Here is a note from Deb Maxwell, owner of Maxwell’s 9.13.34 at 508 Court Street in Hoboken. This week it is all about French Country Style …
“Dear Friends,
Regardless of how much or little space we have, a little creativity can make an escape without leaving home a reality! A tiny balcony, fire escape or even a sliver of sidewalk can transport you to the south of France (absent of jet lag). How nice to have a space dedicated to a glass of wine, dinner al fresco and relaxing with a good book (or nook).
Top Left : Bistro Table & 2 Chairs circa 1960′s from an alternate on line retailer $650.00 + $150.00 shipping & handling.
It has good age, the perfect amount of chipped paint & is a gem… at $800.00 delivered.
Top Right: Fire escape inspiration!
Bottom Left: Vintage Forest Green French Country Style Metal Collapsible Bistro Garden Stable and Arm Chair- table 32″ Diam X 29″ H / Chair 22″ W X 34″ H to top of back $125.00
Priced as 2 piece set. This is a French country style classic inside or out. It has just enough wear, chipping and distress to give it that provincial character. Both pieces collapse for portability. Great for “spill over” service. A beautiful round tablecloth makes this table a casual to formal magical delight!

Mother’s Day is Sunday May13th this year! We will be here this weekend to make sure you’re ready to treat the Mothers in your life.
The red doors will be open to you this Saturday & Sunday from 12 noon to 7 pm!
Today’s Photos of the Day are of local favorite Court Street Restaurant using HDR technique. I decided to include two views. The brick looks very nice and this is achieved by upping the contrast. I stayed away from playing around with the saturation on these shots as I wanted to let the brick speak for itself. If bricks could only talk.
Here is an update from Deb Maxwell of Maxwell’s 9.13.34 boutique located ta 508 Court Street in Hoboken about some of her Spring inspired items…
Dear Friends,
Out with the short days of winter and in with flowers and sunshine! We have some home goods and accessories in store to help Spring-ize your personal sanctuary ….
The cultivation of the quince fruit may have preceded apples, but it was the Italians who first put the quince in a cookbook, Apicius, which gives recipes for stewing quince with honey and combining them with leeks. And so it is that Venetian Quince was created, a bold combination of three very different fruits – crisp apple, peach nectar and zesty grapefruit – with a top note of fresh air accord, flowering sheer white lily, and the invigorating pairing of crushed leaves and dew-drenched grass. From the stone objects d’art of ancient Greece and the gems created for
the Roman Emperors to Napoleon’s coronation crown and Queen Victoria’s beloved personal collection, the carved relief cameo has remained a timeless classic. This luxe candle captures the texture, richness and singular beauty of these historical motifs in the Cameo Collection, each hand-poured in decorative white glass and packaged in embossed, silver-lined boxes for “no wrapping paper needed” gift giving. Hand poured in the USA!
