Thanks to reader TheBankRobber for this tip: Hoboken Tacos is coming to 98 Willow Avenue in Hoboken soon. Not much more is known at this point but the question of the day is with the Taco Truck nearby is there enough demand for tacos in Hoboken? Perhaps the new place will carve out a new niche in Hoboken and tacos won’t go the over-saturated route of falafel in town.

After Barron’s Drug closed shop in midtown last year and sold their customer list to Walgreen’s, it is nice to see someone try to make a go of it and attempt to service the people’s pharmaceutical needs with a customer focused approach. At least that is how they are advertising it. For mid-towners like me this could make picking up medication even easier.

It looks like a popup business is trying to capitalize on the Hoboken Lepre-Con 2012 party that is about to hit Hoboken on March 3rd, which is the normal day for the Hoboken St. Patrick’s Day celebration this year without the parade.
On the Facebook page for Hoboken Lepre-Con 2012 Elvi [Guzman] wrote:
“This is a great event for local businesses in Hoboken: bars, restaurants, and many others. Everyone will dress up as Leprechauns a pop-up store selling costumes will be opening shortly in Hoboken! More details to follow!”.
As of this morning a location has not been secured but if there any landlords that have room for a two month vacancy, please send an email to theboken@gmail.com and we will pass it on to the prospective entrepreneur. TheBoken will provide an update once the location is finalized.

Hoboken Lepre-Con 2012 is quickly approaching 9,000 RSVPs if they haven’t hit that mark already. The only Hoboken competition TheBoken.com can see for this store is the current t-shirt and sovenier place between 4th and 5th and Washington Street that is already geared up for the March 3rd Pub Crawl as shown in the photo below…..
There is a new clothing store coming to Washington Street in Hoboken soon. Rough construction has been completed and just a matter of time before the finishing touches and final inspections based on photos take yesterday. The question with any retail store that opens on Washington Street is: will they sell enough merchandise to be able to afford the steep rents on Washington Street? If they can that would be iconic! Here is wishing the owners good luck.

We just received word that Fresh Pommes Frites is hoping to have their grand opening next week!
They have launched their website for the world to see, be sure to check it out at http://www.freshpommesfrites.com/ and look be sure to check back as we will have much more on the opening of Fresh Pommes Frites in the next week or so.
It appears that Hoboken is getting yet another pizza place. Balbo’s pizza will located next door to Green Rock.
Are there too many pizza places in Hoboken? Or can you never have enough? Maybe Balbo’s will knock it out of the park, we sure hope so!

We had a chance to snap a few photo’s outside of the new Dozzino Pizza that is coming soon to the corner of 6th and Adams street right across the street from the Hoboken Animal Infirmary. It looks like things are really coming along nicely for this soon to be artisanal pizza shop.
The outdoor space looks amazing and word on the street is that the owners are really looking to bring a pizza experience like none other here to Hoboken. That is going to be quite the challenge and one we are definitely looking forward to!
