They had really clammed up on this one but Biggie’s Clam Bar is expanding to a another location in Hoboken. The Clam Broth House could not make a go of it after almost two years and now it is Biggie’s Clam Bar opening their second restaurant in Hoboken ay 36-42 Newark Street to give it a shot. The Old Clam Broth House building was torn down a few years ago and a new building erected but the renewed restaurant never really caught on with patrons for whatever reason. Biggie’s, and established restaurant should bring a different approach to this location. TheBoken.com is not sure how extensive the planned reservations will be. Stay tuned.
The Clam Broth House is currently closed for reservations. They are re-opening soon and encourage everyone to watch for their “Grand Reopening”. By undertaking this capital improvement, they are pointing to a new future. The Clam Broth house had recently gone over extensive renovations but apparently thought it was time to redo the configuration of the restaurant. Perhaps they are hoping to cast a bigger net and get more customers. Nothing fishy about an owner trying to improve a business into a viable going concern. Here is hoping this seafood establishment will set sail in 2012.
Today’s photo of the day is of Hoboken’s iconic and historic Clam Broth House sign. The restaurant may have been rebuilt but the sign remains as a legacy of Hoboken’s past.
The Clam Broth House in Hoboken is now having Jazz Fridays at 7pm and Saturdays at 9pm according to their latest sandwich board.
