The Rebuild Hoboken Charter School Benefit and Auction

On Monday October 29th the Rebuild Hoboken Charter School Benefit & Auction at the W Hotel Hoboken will be held from 7:30-10:30pm

The evening will feature food from many of Hoboken’s finest restaurants, drinks courtesy of Sparrow Wine & Liquor, plus Live and Silent Auctions filled with dozens of spectacular items and experiences to bid on in every price range.

Proceeds from the Benefit and Auction will provide much needed funds to help Hoboken Charter School rebuild from the devastating fire of September 6, 2012.

Together with the community’s help, we can ensure that the Hoboken Charter School at 713 Washington Street is rebuilt bigger and better than before, and that the Hoboken Charter School has a solid financial foundation to continue to provide its students with the nationally-recognized service-learning program for which it is known.

Annual Hoboken Rotary Annual Golf Outing September 10 2012

The Hoboken Rotary is holding their  17th Annual Golf Benefit Monday September 10th 2012  at the Shackamaxon Country Club in Scotch Plains New Jersey. The location of the golf course and county club is 1607 Shackamaxon Drive, Scotch Plains, NJ 07076.

Here is the schedule:

  • 9:30am- Arrival and Check-In, Breakfast
  • 11:00am-Shotgun Start (beer, soda, and water on course, BBQ Lunch at turn)
  • 4:00pm -Cocktails (2 hour premium open bar – Hors D’oeuvres, and Post-outing Contests
  • 5pm- Dinner reception

In the past the Hoboken Rotary has  raised enough money to accomplish worthy goals including  the 3rd Annual “Spelling Bee Competition”, Supporting victims of Fires, and  “Literacy Program” Books distribution to 1st and 3rd graders in City of Hoboken.

Prizes will be awarded for:  Longest Drive, Closest to the Pin, Beat the Prez., Porsche Hole-in-One, Top 3 Teams, Chipping Contest & Putting Contest!

Get ready for a fun-filled, ice-cream Thursday when Ben & Jerry’s host san Ice Cream Sidewalk Carnival with free face painters, music, balloons and Celebrity Scoopers on Thursday, May 31, 5 PM – 9 PM. Proceeds from ice-cream sales throughout the evening will go toward the 2nd Annual Lose the Training Wheels Bike Camp to teach children with disabilities to ride a two-wheel bicycle.  The Hoboken Family Alliance will host the camp, July 8-13 at Hoboken High School. Local celebrities and politicos including Mayor Dawn Zimmer, Artie Lang, Red Bulls personalities, Fuzzy Lemon Dave Lambert, Johnny Pepperoni,  Freeholder Anthony Romano and surprise guests will be at the store dishing out favorite flavors. Ben & Jerry’s along with the City of Hoboken, Litzky Public Relations, Macy’s, Coca-Cola, h-Mag, the Hoboken Harriers,and WPLJ are sponsoring the bike camp. Hey Everyone,

I am honored to be hosting the fourth-annual Global Fund for Women Benefit show on April 7, 2012 at Maxwell’s in Hoboken.

I don’t ever get tired of saying that I’m hosting another Global Fund for Women Benefit. Each year the party gets better and better — and all for a great cause. The 4th-annual Concert to Benefit Global Fund for Women will be held once again at historic Maxwell’s in Hoboken. Taking place on Saturday April 7 2012, the show will feature performances by New Day Dawn, The Nico Blues, clueLess Allstars, and Motorboat.

As always, this year’s event was organized by musician Nelson Pla and presented by Clueless Events. The GFW Benefit Concerts continue to bring awareness to — and raise money for — the work of The Global Fund for Women and I’m proud to be involved again.

The Global Fund for Women is an international network committed to a world of equality and social justice. Founded in 1987, this nonprofit organization defends women’s rights by making grants to support women’s groups. They promote the economic security, health, safety, education and leadership of women and girls worldwide.

Discount Parking Available:

Now we all know how hard it can be to park in Hoboken. Luckily, Maxwell’s offers discounted parking at two nearby garages. The closest lot is located at 1125 Maxwell Lane. You must enter this lot before 10PM (you can exit anytime). Buy vouchers at the bar. $5 gets you 3 hours of parking. You can buy multiple vouchers. When leaving the parking lot, first put the parking ticket into the machine THEN the voucher.

You can also park at the Park On Park lot at 1415 Park Ave. The entrance is on 15th Street (left off of Park as you come into town). You may enter/exit at any time. For this place, you purchase parking stickers from the bartenders. $5 (one sticker) is good for
3 hours, $10 (2 stickers) purchases 7 hours of parking. When exiting the lot, show the parking attendant the stickers on your receipt and they will qualify as payment.

Description: Soul Joel Productions Presents Comedy Night at Willie McBrides. Featuring comedians from Comedy Central, HBO, Last Comic Standing, and XM/Sirius Radio. Each has some of the best comedians from all over the city.

Wine Tasting Event Friday March 25th to Support Hudson County CASA

A wine tasting and chocolate bar to benefit Hudson County CASA will be held Friday, March 25th from 6 to 9 p.m. in The Atrium at Harborside Financial Center in Jersey City. Wine will be provided by Wine Library of Springfield and chocolates by Ultramarinos of Hoboken. There will be a buffet, a raffle for an iPad and a big screen television as well as silent auction filled with exciting items and experiences – tickets to Regis and Kelly as well as many Broadway shows and sporting events. Advance tickets are $65 and can be purchased at www.hudsoncountycasa.org or $75 at the door.

 All proceeds will support CASA’s mission to advocate on behalf of Hudson County’s 700+ foster children while moving them toward safe and permanent homes.
