Diamonds are a girls best friend at The Shannon Hoboken Starts 6-13-2013Starting Tonight at The Shannon in Hoboken, there is a contest that should be a hit with the ladies. Starting at 10pm tonight June 13th there will be a drawing for a diamond where each lady in the house draws from a large snifter glass of 500 cubic zirconias with a chance of getting a 1/2 carat diamond valued at approximately $1000. Based on the laws of probability and project turnout the contest will likely last 2-4 weeks and will be run weekly every Thursday at 10pm until a winner is determined.

The event is sponsored by www.barzz.net and Kettle One Vodka as well as the The Shannon. Contact Sal Spadafora at 201-600-9572 for more details. The Shannon is located at 106 1st Street in Hoboboken, NJ.

Update 6/17/2013: The June 13th event did not yield a winner. Ladies, the diamond is still in play.

NiteClub Ratings TV Series NightClub Ratings is a new series that takes the audience to the hottest clubs in NYC and Boston. The host, Eric “eMoney” Murray, gives the audience a peek into each venue’s history and introduces the audience to the latest DJ’s and musicians working these clubs. The host rubs shoulders with some of the nights in the know club goers and gets a real glimpse at the scene. At the end of the night the club receives a rating from “eMoney” letting the audience know where the action really is! Big Star TV is a new, fast growing subscription television provider available throughout the world. Save the date! Joe Magee of The Galway Guild returns to Hoboken on June 12th from 7-10pm at Tthe Shannon. You can enjoy live Irish music in the front room. Drink Specials are a $3 U CALL-IT Happy Hour from 4 – 8pm! The Shannon is located at 106 1st  Street  Hoboken NJ. With the announcement that longtime band venue Maxwell’s is closing, perhaps patrons will turn to the Shannon for more live performances. Their backroom can accommodate a decent sized but yet intimate crowd.

Pier 13 Now Open for Business in Hoboken – Stunning Views of NYC!

The Hoboken Planning Board earlier this week approved Pier 13′s plans to re-open this year and they are now open this weekend. They are serving craft beers and mixed drinks and have 4 food trucks as of Sunday. The lawn has been recently re-sodded and that are is closed off for another 1 1/2 to 2 weeks until the grass as had time to take root.

The beer truck is not there this year but instead a bar has been set up at the back of the main building in the pier. Other than loud music at the kickoff last year for 4th of July this outdoor bar space has received strong community support. Well over 2,000 residents signed the petition in support of this establishment. All that was required this year is that the proper approvals came from Hoboken Planning Board. Some restrictions did apply like no beer truck but instead a bar out of the back of the building  but this space is able to run as a private bar on what is supposed to be public space and it is as it is open to the public whether you plan to drink or not.

The food trucks for Sunday included Luke’s Lobster, Pudgy’s Street Food, Hunger Construction and Munch Man Truck.  Pier 13 is located at 1301 Sinatra Drive.

The Shannon Star Karaoke Contest Thursdays Through June 6th at 8pm

If waiting in line for insane amounts of time just to get a crack at American Idol isn’t your thing, but the desire to be a local vocal star is, The Shannon might have the right event for you….

The Shannon’s Karaoke Contest started May 9th and will run through June 6th every Thursday! Of course some of you might need a little liquid courage so they will have drink specials just in case. These will $3 select beers and shots, $7 doubles, a shot wheel featuring $1 and $3 shots! A DJ will be keeping the party going afterwards with the hottest Thirst-day night dance party!

The Shannon Karaoke Contests May June Thursdays 2013 Hoboken

Weekly winners will compete on June6th for the grand prize. The grand prize winner of the contest gets an audition to sing the National Anthem at a New York Red Bulls game.
