Muscle Maker Grill Open for Business In Hoboken! Offers Healthy Food Choices

Muscle Maker Grill Hoboken Exterior #1

Muscle Maker Grill (www.musclemakergrill.com) is now open for business in Hoboken at 217 Washington Street. The healthy food chain opened their doors for the first time yesterday and in amazing case of perfect timing TheBoken.com was their very first customer at their new Hoboken location. Muscle Maker Grill was founded in 1995 and franchised in 2007 by Rod Silva and currently has over 200 chains in the continental US with plans for international expansion.

TheBoken.com met with the franchise owner of this location Chris Acciardi and for him it is sort of a Hoboken homecoming as 3 of his 4 children were all born in Hoboken. The restaurant chain does emphasize healthy food in that they do not use deep fryers, and feature whole wheat bread, brown rice, zero carb signature sauce, low fat cheese and many other advantages over normal fast food options. While other businesses have not been successful long term at this location perhaps the quality of the food and its healthy profile will keep them coming back. Here is wishing Chris the best of luck on his new endeavor.

The company touts their healthy food with the following statement on their website:

Muscle Maker Grill Difference

Unlike many restaurants that make healthy claims, Muscle Maker Grill does not sacrifice taste to serve healthy options. We pride ourselves on creating healthier versions of your favorite foods that taste great, making it easy and enjoyable to eat healthy. In addition, we cater to all different types of healthy eating lifestyles.

Over the past 17 years, we have created a menu that satisfies everyone from vegetarians to the carb-free consumer to people following a gluten-free diet. We have created a friendly, relaxed, and social environment where people can enjoy great-tasting food, learn about healthy eating and engage with other customers.

TheBoken.com tried the Mexicana and a side of their Savory Spinach and found both dishes to be tasty and low in calories. For $3.99 I could have hoped for a little more on the portion for the Savory Spinach but overall the meal was filling. TheBoken.com will be back as the combination of good taste and healthy ingredients makes for a healthier diet.

  1. Don't you idiots proofread your articles? I mean a quick once over of the title might be a good idea…

  2. Joey- Thanks for pointing out a glaring editorial oversight. Spell check does not work with titles but I should have caught it nonetheless. I make my share of mistakes but I find your accusation of idiocy is uncalled for and quite frankly not neighborly. I can assure you I am no idiot.

I am happy to contribute to the Hoboken websphere and this website's goal is keep Hoboken informed as best we can with part time resources. Everyone that contributes to TheBoken.com has a day job.

So feel free to give constructive criticism all you want, but try to stay away from the barbs. They cast you in a negative light. Thanks.

  3. Hate to say it, but, foul language aside, perhaps Joey has a point: "The restaurant chain does emphasize healthy food in that they do not use deep fryers, whole wheat bread, brown rice, zero carb signature sauce, low fat cheese and many other advantages over normal fast food options."

I believe what you intended was: "The restaurant chain emphasizes healthy food; they do not use deep fryers, and they offer many other advantages over normal fast food options such as whole wheat bread, brown rice, and a zero carb signature sauce."

  4. Man, that place looks great! Hope they plan to open some chains over here in Australia. They would do really well, especially places like the gold coast and Sydney.
    Cheers, Jon
