Hurricane Sandy Relief Charity Drive for the Hoboken Shelter Tonight at Trinity 7:30pm
Here is a note from the Hoboken Social Sandbox on their Happy Tonight at Trinity to get goods for the Hoboken Shelter which has been strained like many of us by the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy….
“It has been a rough time for us recently, but it is finally starting to feel a bit better and it looks like we even have a beautiful sunny day today!
We now have 50 people RSVP’d for tonight’s charity drive for the Hoboken Shelter. Currently the shelter is very low on Sugar, coffee, cereal and toilet paper.
If you will be joining us and have not yet RSVP’d please do so at: http://www.hobokensocialsandbox.com/events/84365672/
We will be starting at 7:30PM and I will be giving out wristbands to everyone. I will be wearing a glow stick pendent so you will be able to easily spot me. We will also be taking donations near the door. You can donate money instead of items if you wish and donations are totally voluntary (meaning that you don’t have to donate anything to attend the event).
A special thanks to Michelle who has volunteered to drive the donations over to the shelter.
Looking forward to seeing many of you tonight!”
Hurricane Sandy Relief Charity Drive for the Hoboken Shelter
Location: Trinity Restaurant * Bar* Lounge
Address: 306 Sinatra Drive, Hoboken, NJ
They will be wearing wrist bands and the organizer will be wearing a glow stick. This was scheduled to be a New to Hoboken Happy Hour, but due to the Hurricane they are changing it to a charity drive to collect donations for the Hoboken Shelter who is providing relief for many local residents, especially those with the most need of assistance. Note that this will still be a great event for meeting your neighbors and making new friends, especially if you are new to the area.
There will be no charge for this event, nor do you need to contribute anything to attend. I know many of us have lost personal effects, cars and even homes. This event is for the group to get together as a community, lick our wounds and to help out if we can. For those who can contribute anything you can give is appreciated. You can also give cash donations instead of actual items which will be useful for the shelter to buy things that they need. Here is the current list of items the shelter needs:
- 1. Milk
- 2. Coffee
- 3. Sugar
- 4. Cereal
- 5. juice
- 6. Frozen Meat
