Energy Kitchen located at 96 Hudson Street in Hoboken appears to have been closed down for renovations or perhaps for good. A source that is a local businessman in the area thinks they closed that location for good. Their website http://energykitchen.com/order no longer displays the Hoboken location but there are still plenty of locations listed in NYC. Seems like they could have been a promising chain in a promising location in Hoboken. Perhaps the ratio of high rent to lack of foot traffic did them in (plus the PATH being closed) despite it being a very busy corner. I hope the source is incorrect and that they are just renovating but I have seen this play out on other closings in Hoboken before.

The  hospitality industry can be a very tough business to survive in Hoboken and there are a lot factors that go into the success of any given food establishment. Perhaps healthy eating is not the best option for a viable food business without a liquor license but I am pretty sure we have enough pizza places. It will be interesting to see what goes in there next.
