Dawn Zimmer made history yesterday! She was the first women elected mayor of Hoboken. The Boken congratulates the entire Zimmer campaign on a successful campaign. We look forward to watching Zimmer make some changes around …
Hungover? Check out Mikie Squared…
For some reason, despite all the yummy hangover food in The Boken, we always end up ordering the same hangover meal: Wraps from Mikie Squared (616 Washington St.)
Juniors Papaya, not just for hamburgers anymore…
So recently Snoop and I were looking for a place where we could sit outside (you know, cause he is a dog and can’t sit inside) and grab a quick breakfast sandwich.
Black Bear Bar & Grill (205 Washington St.) in the heart of downtown Hoboken is a great place to meet up with a group of friends on a weeknight to grab some beers and watch the game. Tuesday night they run a great special that we like to refer to as the “Wingaling.”
So let’s a take a moment and talk about the beer journey that is going on at the Hoboken Bar and Grill. That’s right they have a beer club that features 60 beers. Membership to the beer club is free, they give you a membership card that has your member number and a sheet that lists all the beers to be initialed by the bar tenders as you complete each beer.
Elysian Café has a French bistro-style menu and a solid beer selection that’s hard to turn down after a long Monday. Every Monday evening they offer a two for one special from the bar menu, and the lower priced entree selection is deducted from your check (Sorry no take out!). One might think that just the bar menu would be limited, but indeed it is packed with most of our favs.
With the abundance of coffee shops, bodegas, Starbucks and numerous Dunking Donuts scattered around Hoboken the question we beg to ask is who really has the best cup of Joe?
In my experience, a kickin’ dance party cannot be planned. It is something that is birthed out of spontaneity: a combination of good vibes, good drinks (in most cases), and a great DJ. This past Saturday, I ventured into the Chandelier Room at the W Hotel, advertised as a hot spot that hopes to bring a little something that this town has been missing.
It’s a Wednesday evening (hump day!) and you’re getting frustrated because you’re not in the mood to cook and you don’t want to spend your last pay check eating out. But there are options! Find a friend, head to Four L’s on 2nd and Washington and you will not be disappointed.
The Barclays PGA Tour event is taking place at Liberty National Golf Club this week. Be sure to catch the top golfers in the world!
Welcome to our very first “Dining With…” column!
Every month or so we will complete a short Q & A with a local Hoboken politician, celebrity, personality, etc. about their favorite Hoboken eats and drinks. First up: newly elected Hoboken City Councilman At-Large, David Mello.
Looking for Live Music in TheBoken? Check out whose playing at Maxwells
We recently had a Hoboken Date Night. Here’s how it went down. It was a great summer evening, so we decided to check out the views and cocktails at the W Hotel (225 River St.) Attempting to stick to a budget, we decided to have ONE pre-dinner cocktail out on the terrace of the Chandelier Room, which was truly one of the best views in all of Hoboken.
Like Belgian Beer? We do too. Tonight (Wednesday, August 5) at 7:00pm, for a mere $20 bill, you can take advantage of an “All You Can Drink” assortment of Belgian Beers (while supplies last) at The Dubliner on 1st and River.
