Update on Helping 300 Washington Street Fire Victims and Organizational Meeting Tonight at the Village Pourhouse 7-8:30pm
Rory Chadwick is try to help organize relief efforts for the fire victims of 300 Washington Street fire in Hoboken that happened last Sunday. The photo above is actually from the living room of Tiffany S. after the fire and as you can see she and Fred lost everything. They couple currently have a place to stay but others are still looking and it has been reported that 9 people did not have insurance. Here is Rory’s note below…
I received several emails the last 2 days from both the displaced and Christopher Burk of RELB Property Management LLC. which is the management for 300 Washington Street. Approximately 12 laptop computers are needed desperately at this time according to emails I have received. In addition digital cameras, sundries such as tooth paste, colognes and perfumes, soap, shampoos, etc. are needed. In addition several of the displaced residents need a place to stay locally and if anyone has a room for rent in their home or has an apartment vacant that those displaced can use free of charge for a month or 2 that would be great.
Tonight at the Village Pourhouse from 7pm-8:30pm we are holding a volunteers needed meeting. Community residents can attend and learn how to be involved both short term and long term in assisting with ongoing efforts to help those displaced.
If you could all share this on your respected forums, sites, blogs and publications I believe it would be greatly appreciated by those affected by the tragic fire.
For those that want to donate and can not attend the event March 2nd can visit hobokenrotary.org, on the home page is a link to donate online. For those that want to volunteers and can not attend tonight’s meeting can email firstname.lastname@example.org.
