The Stewed Cow, located at 400 Adams Street  in Hoboken, recently had their Grand Opening on Friday March 8th after extensive renovations and change in theme from a neighborhood bar and restaurant to a Country and Western bar complete with a mechanical bull.  That’s right folks, no bull from TheBoken.com, a mechanical bull! Formerly known as the Gaslight, the ownership has stayed intact and literally weathered the storm (Hurricane Sandy) and persevered to make for a festive re-opening. Sometimes in life you have to grab the bull by the horns and the ownership has done just that making this a fun and friendly attractive new venue.

Friends and family of the owners were there on Sunday afternoon including some children who also rode the bull and fell off quite safely. The bar went through a safety certification process with the a firm that is credentialed with State of New Jersey before they could operate the bull. With air being pumped all the pit much like a child’s bouncy house the safety issues appear to be quite well handled. The bull actually has inflatable horns so no accidental skewering is possible. The new bar is an open floor plan and has plenty of windows that give it cheery atmosphere. With a number of beers on tap and and good selection of Bourbons and other mixed drinks this bar seems to be off to  a good start out of the gate.

TheBoken.com plans on coming back to sample some of their brews and whiskeys and pub fare but in the meantime wishes the ownership and the staff prosperity on the promising new look and establishment designed for urban cowboy and cowgirl alike.
