Snooki and Jwoww Coming to Hoboken Soon – Good or Bad for Hoboken?

Here is the latest from Hoboken Robin….

Snooki and Jwoww Coming to Hoboken Soon.  Good for town or bad?

This week, producers with MTV have been blanketing Hoboken retail stores and restaurants with paperwork asking if local businesses would like to be part of the show which is untitled at the moment.  The show which is entitled for now “Snooki & Jwoww untitled” is asking local merchants to use their places of business for filming.

Unlike other shows which are filmed in Hoboken that show off the good side of Hoboken like the Cake Boss, local merchants have been coming out of the woodwork and staying they’re not interested in the show being filmed at their businesses.  Some merchants fear that businesses will be depicted in the negative light and make local businesses look bad.

Many Hoboken residents also feel the shooting of the show In Hoboken may create a mob of out of town lovers of the Jersey Shore, filling the sidewalks and streets with fans and extra cars. Some, self included feel it could potentially be a safety concern filming he show in the community.

The date to start production is unknown at this time.

What do you think? Is this potential show good for the Hoboken community or will it possibly depict us as a laughable city like the Jersey Shore has done for communities along the Jersey shore?

  1. Hoboken doesn't need to gain anything from this show. Hoboken is doing just fine without it. Hoboken is looking to become a late 20's, early 30's family crowd. The last thing we need are these schmucks running around doing stupid ish. I think stores and bars need to come together and just say NO!

  2. i enjoy seeing hoboken on t.v. and having shows filmed here but this is not one of them! Please do not allow this to happen to such a great city. There are pleanty of other shows that could easily be filmed here and bring in a good crowd… Just say NO!

  3. Jersey Shore didn't ultimately give Jersey a bad name, but it spead the word like WILD FIRE!! I have family that live in the mid west that never had much of an opinion until that show came out. I'm glad its done great things for businesses in Seaside, but Hoboken is a different dynamic. As a business owner, i truely believe that this sort of crowd the new JS show would bring would overwhelm the population of vistors and consumers many of us are TRYING to get.

  4. Aside from the consumer point of view, this show and these people are an abomination to television. This is just not the kind of programming or BEHAVIOR that i want to keep promoting. To keep spreading the word thats it ok to behave, dress, speak, and portray themselves the way these girls do is embarrasing as a woman and constantly UNDO their "teachings" to my students as a teacher. Kids for better or for worse, with parents that let them watch this crap, think that its ok. We have enough to worry about in schools besides adding another horrible horrible horrible example to television.
Enough with this. If other cities want to whore themselves out to these people, so be it. But i want none of it. And i hope that Hoboken agrees.
How about we make the news for refusing them?? THAT might be good for business!

  5. Hoboken always tries to become a family crown but usually fails due to the lack of a decent school system.

  6. This is bad news. The influx of trash coming into town will cause a lot of problems which will then be televised.

  7. This is a terrible idea. Yes Hoboken is packed with bars and resturants but at the end of the day this is a commuter town filled largely with residence ages 25-35. The jersey shore is frequented by people similar to snookie and jwow thats why bars and businesses florished down there after the show. Seeing them in Karma made sense since they are representative of the calibur of bar and target demographic. For example, would it make any business sense for Bin 14 to film them in their resturant? They dont represent their establishment or their customer base. What could possibly be considered their scene here? Filming taking shots at Teak and Bahama Mamas every episode? Out of all the wonderful things about Hoboken to show the nation, that is how we would want to present ourselves? Also, do we want the influx of their fans swarming our streets to take pics? The lines and porta potties for Cake Boss is annoying enough but atleast its made up of kids and families

  8. This would be awesome! Finally gives Hoboken the spot light, which it deserves. Plus it would be some awesome entertainment to see these idiots on Washington, yelling and screaming in their trashy outfits.

  9. Please, don't ruin my town!! If this happens, there will be a mass exodus of young and educated professionals and families – and Hoboken may never recover!! Remember it's not the snookis (except for Snooki herself) of the world who actually have jobs and money to stimulate the economy…

  10. You must not be a real resident, because there's screaming idiots in trashy outfits every weekend on Washington outside of Madison's, and downtown at the bars near the PATH. The only difference is these two pieces of trash are famous idiots. Just the kind of attention Hoboken needs.

  11. Yes, because Hoboken doesn't have enough drunk scumbags invading every weekend via PATH, NJT and ferry, making a mess of it and annoying the residents. Even Uptown is starting to feel like downtown with the trash that invade every weekend and stumble out of Madisons and City Bistro at closing time. Let's just advertise that these two no-talent skanks are hanging about and see what kind of people that invites into town. I'll guarantee you it's not affluent people from Bergen or Morris county coming into town to spend money in the shops on Washington. The only people who will benefit (as usual) are the bars in this town. Welcome to Hoboken, two drink minimum. I can't wait to move out in a couple weeks, I'm sick of stepping over puke on Friday and Saturday mornings when I go to walk my dog around Uptown.

  12. There’s not a whole lot of difference between the goombas of the jersey shore and the jocks of Hoboken. Just keep em outta Jersey City.

  13. Wow – Hoboken has become the hotbed of Reality TV. First Cake Boss, then the Manzo's, then the guy that was on Hells Kitchen and Adam from CBS' Big Brother this past summer. Glad to see our little town is blowing up. Too bad this show will probably suck – but as they say – talk good, talk bad, just talk!
