Connecticut Shooting Suspect not Ryan Lanza 24 years old of Hoboken – his brother Adam Lanza now Suspected Shooter

Ryan Lanza - Taken into Custody CBS 2 screen shot Hoboken 12-14-2012

A crazed gunman dressed in black went on a rampage at a Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown Connecticut this morning, in a massacre that left the shooter and 26 dead others – including 20 children.

Ryan Lanza, a 24 year old Hoboken resident was incorrectly initially identified by multiple national media outlets including CNN as the possible gunman in the shooting. It has been reported now that his brother 20 year old Adam Lanza who is reported dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound was the shooter. Ryan was taken into custody by the Hoboken Police Department for questioning this afternoon and his residence at 13th and Grand Street was sealed off for investigative purposes. Media outlets are reporting that Ryan is not considered a suspect at this point and that the mother was also found dead at a separate location. This story is developing.

This incident is horrific and makes little sense, but it appears Hoboken is not the place residence of the gunman of the 2nd worst school massacre in US History. Condolences to the friends and families that have been hurt by this tragedy.

  1. Ryan's brother was the killer yet he was first believed to be the killer. What a heckuva way to find out your brother is a killer and that both your brother and mother are among the dead.
