Sunday October 7th starting at 4pm, The Chandelier Room of Hoboken is having their 1980′s Sunday Funday Party with musical guest DJ Chachi. Come on down and party like it is 1984. For those who might not know The Chandelier Room is on the 2nd floor of Hoboken’s prestigious W Hotel. This event promises to be fun for all that attend according to the Chandelier Room’s new manager.

Brendan Drury and a few of his friends created Pint Meisters (http://www.PintMeisters.com). The organization’s goal is to create social recreational events in Hoboken area that raise money for charities.
They have decided to do a Halfway to St. Patty’s crawl this coming September 15th, mainly because it would bring in a large crowd and they can repeat it annually. For this event, Pint Meisters has decided that proceeds will be going to the Jubilee Youth Center in Hoboken (http://jubileecenterhoboken.org), a good cause that invests in Hoboken’s future its children.

Join Hoboken Volunteers tomorrow, Wednesday August 1st, 2012 at 7 pm at the rooftop of the Dubliner, 1st and River Streets in Hoboken, for the 10th Annual Belgian Beer Night! Sip on a rich and flavor awakening assortment of Belgian style beers, generously donated by the Boulder Beer company, as your mind slips away to another country.
A donation of $20 is suggested. Full cash bar available. 100% of the proceeds will benefit Hoboken Volunteers.
Founded in 2003, Belgian Beer Nite is a 100% sponsored event.
Last Saturday, TheBoken.com paid an afternoon visit to Jersey City’s latest “mega bar” Surf City. Located at 1 Marin Blvd. in Jersey City next to a marina, Surf City is accessible to the NJ Light Rail system from Hoboken at the Marin Blvd Light Rail stop. TheBoken.com enjoyed the time there and recommends the place for its relaxed ambience, gorgeous views and delicious lobster rolls. The Frozen drinks are pretty good too.
This place has only been open for 3 weeks and is under the same ownership as Zeppelin Hall, the big beer garden in Jersey City that is actually withing walking distance from this place. Surf City bartender and Social Media coordinator Meghan said that there are plans to have musical acts there soon and according their Facebook page a raw bar will be coming soon as well.
The crowd was mixed but older than say Pier 13 during the day but I was informed that it does get younger at night. The music, unlike its predecessor the Sand Bar, is more Jimmy Buffet than club and the views of the Harbor and dowtown NYC make it a very cool place to chill and meet up with friends. Thus, if you want a beachy feeling from Hoboken’s offerings Surf City could be the ticket. Below are some photos of the place that give you an idea of its offerings….
