This photo of the iconic Grand central Terminal was taken yesterday. It is hard to believe that this national treasure was once slated for demolition. Thankfully due to the acts of prominent citizens like Jackie Kennedy and others this national landmark was saved and this building continues to provide a real function as well as a sense of awe.
Today’s Hoboken Photo of the Day is of the nighttime view of New York City from Maxwell Place Park in Hoboken. Hoboken simply has some of the best views of the Big Apple.
TheBoken.com spent this weekend on the Jersey Shore but is glad to be back in Hoboken rain storm and all. Here is a recent shot of the steps of some row houses on Garden Street between 8th and 9th Street in Hoboken.
Hoboken has great views of New York City. This photos was taken on Sunday during one of the nicest days in recent memory. The view of the Freedom Tower and Downtown New York City is simply beautiful. The value of of an open waterfront is priceless and that is why so many Hoboken residents before have fought hard to keep it that way.
This recent photo is of Downtown NYC taken recently from the New York Waterway ferry heading back to Hoboken. This uses HDR but attempts to be more photo realistic.
Today’s photo of the day is of the crowd at the Hoboken Arts and Music Festival that was held yesterday. The weather was perfect and the festival was well attended. Local bands like Swingadelic performed and the headliner this year was Mike Doughty.

Here is another sign of spring, Lola’s Tapas Bar and their outdoor seating. The weather as of late has been beautiful and this outdoor display caught my photographic eye. They along with other Latino themed establishments are gearing up for Cinco De Mayo day tomorrow May 5th.
I took this photo yesterday on the way home on the NY Waterway ferry from my office in New York City. The top of the Freedom tower is near completion and I am just trying to capture as much of the construction progress as I can. This taken with the Nikon D600 and my all purpose 26mm-300mm lens. I took three separate photos at different exposures and used Photomatix to merge them in HDR. I went for a photorealistic effect and the result of course is increased dynamic range of the shot without artifice. I look forward to taking this shot again when everything is completed.

Today’s photo of the day was taken last weekend at Hoboken’s Pier A Park with a view of the World Trade Center’s Freedom Tower. The green grass and lovely weather a testament that Spring has finally sprung in Hoboken.
