Here is another Bar that is readily hosting Hoboken’s Second annual Lepre-Con otherwise known as Hoboken’s St. Patrick’s Day without the parade. Marty O’Brien’s located at 94 Bloomfield Street is having the following activities on Saturday March 2nd.

First off they are opening up early at 9am, serving a breakfast buffet and drink specials ($3 Coors light, $3 yuengling, $3 killians, shot specials every half an hour). The cover charge will be $25 and DJ Watts will start at 11am. They are also trying to procure a live bagpipes player in the morning. More bars and events to come for this festive day For Irish pros and amateurs alike (but mostly amateurs)

Marty O’Brien’s (MOB’s) has Football Specials both Saturday and Sunday. Their football specials for College Football Saturday and NFL Sunday are the following:
Food and Drink Specials:
  • $10 Coors Light Pitchers and $12 Yuengling pitchers
  • $3 Coors light drafts and $3 Yuengling drafts
  • $15 pitchers of sangria
  • $18 domestic buckets and $22 Corona and Corona light buckets
  • $5 Appetizers
  • Also, there is a complimentary bloody mary and mimosa with the purchase of a brunch entree.
Also, tonight Thursday October 25th MOB’s will be having a Jim Beam promotion from 9-11pm with $4 Jim beam drinks and shots.  This event will occur every Thursday Through November.
Finally,  Wednesday October 31st aka Halloween, MOB’s will be having their Halloween party that will feature drink specials and a Costume Contest.  First prize for best costume will be  a cash prize.

Hudson County Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) Happy Hour Fundraiser at Marty O’Briens Tonight 6-8pm

Please join Hudson County CASA for a Happy Hour on Wednesday night October 24th, 2012 tonight at Marty O’Brien’s in Hoboken from 6 to 8 pm. Some terrific people will be acting as “celebrity bartenders” and donating their tips to CASA. Come and meet Mayor Dawn Zimmer,  Councilman Jim Doyle and local civic leaders Jim Kocis, Sandi Reinardy and Erin Bellissimo, and other public dignitaries. There will be “Cassatinis” as well as drink specials. If you needed a good excuse to enjoy a cocktail, this is one! Marty O’Brien’s is at 94 Bloomfield Street, right behind City Hall.”

About Hudson County Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA):

Hudson County CASA is an independent, non-profit organization committed to advocating for the best interests of abused and neglected children in foster care. CASA works through trained community volunteers to ensure that needed services are made available to children while helping move them toward safe and permanent homes. Children in Hudson County are among the poorest in the state and are the most diverse population of children in New Jersey. Children here have few resources and services, making the advocacy of CASA volunteers critical to their lives. It is CASA’s mission to help these children grow up in safe, permanent environment that enables them to become productive, happy adults. Our volunteers work tirelessly to give a voice to children in need.

  • Last year CASA served 174 children.

  • 3% of all children in Hudson County live in poverty while only 1,490 of all children in New Jersey find themselves in such dire straits.
  • In FY12 it cost CASA $2,231 per year to support a child with a CASA volunteer.

Dear Friends,

Please join me for an Obama Watch Party, this Thursday at Marty O’Brien’s (1st & Bloomfield) from 8:30 – midnight.

Marty O’Brien’s is offering our group some great drink and food specials for this event!

We’ve heard from Governor Romney, and Congressman Ryan about their vision for America’s future, and I look forward to hearing President Obama’s response and his vision together with all of you.

Last week Congressman Ryan claimed to have run a marathon in under 3 hours, when in fact his time was four hours, and one minute.

Finishing a marathon is a great achievement no matter what your time. Had Mr. Ryan not “misremembered” I would have been impressed, given that my marathon time was a lowly four hours and 30 minutes.

I know my time, and like all runners, I will never forget it. I don’t know if President Obama or Vice President Biden have ever run a marathon, but I hope if they did, they would be honest about their time.

Let’s come together to hear President Obama stand up for the ideals that have made our country great.

Everyone is welcome! (Democrats, Republicans, & Independents, as long as you pledge to tell the truth about your running times!)
